AUGUSTA, Ga. — A star-studded leaderboard and patron-filled course have the 2022 Masters already reaching a fever pitch with Round 2 action underway Friday. Sungjae Im topped the leaderboard after 18 holes but has not separated himself from the pack with his second round near completion. This as the top groups in the afternoon session are hitting Augusta National looking to make a move before the cutline is announced in the early evening.

As one would expect, it’s Tiger Woods who is drawing most of the air out of the atmosphere at Augusta. Playing his first event in 17 months — and just 14 months removed from nearly losing his leg — Woods shot the most remarkable 71 in Masters history to sit T11 and just four shots back of Im. Tiger is not only likely to make the cut barring disaster Friday, he may well be in contention to win his sixth green jacket entering the weekend. Woods is now on the course attempting to do just that. All of it makes for a must-watch second round that should be thrilling from sunrise to sunset on Friday.

Watch the 2022 Masters streaming Friday with Masters Live as we follow the best golfers in the world throughout Augusta National with Featured Groups, check in at the famed Amen Corner and see leaders round the turn on Holes 15 & 16. Watch live for free on desktop and mobile via CBSSports.com and CBS Sports App. Also available on Paramount+.

CBS Sports will update this story with scores and highlights from the Masters below. Check out the live scores at the top of this story, a more detailed leaderboard, Round 2 tee times and our complete Masters TV schedule / coverage guide.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler might be the quietest leader of the week at Augusta National. Just birdied No. 8 to grab the outright lead from Charl Schwartzel and Sungjae Im, both of whom are in the clubhouse. Scheffler still has more than a half-round left. Can he post a number everyone must chase on Moving Day?

Two stars unlikely to make cut

Former Masters champion Jordan Spieth needed a birdie on 18 to feel good about making the weekend cut. He double-bogeyed it, finishing 6 over and almost assuredly missing the cut.

Brooks Koepka also at 6 over and done with his second round. Had bogeys in three of his final five.

Just got in from the course, and the wind is a nightmare. Gusting but inconsistent. There are going to be so many balls in the water on No. 12 this afternoon. Many of them from Spieth, apparently.

Hideki Matsuyama with a birdie on No. 6 gives him a share of the Masters lead. Insane. He’s 3 under through six on the day. Remarkable what he’s been able to do this week after bringing in a neck injury that significantly hampered his Masters prep in the last month. (Remember: He withdrew from the Texas Open a week ago!)

Very strong showings now in the books today for Dustin Johnson (+1 in Round 2) and Collin Morikawa (-2 in Round 2). The Ryder Cup buddies playing together did well for themselves on the whole. DJ one off the lead, Morikawa two off it after a slow start on Thursday. Top of the leaderboard looking pretty, pretty good.
