Applications Being Accepted For Active NL Fund – News Releases – Government Of Newfoundland And Labrador

The Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation, today announced the establishment of the Active NL Fund in support of Come Home 2022 and issued a call for applications for community-based projects focused on recreation.

The new Active NL Fund is a one-time funding opportunity designed to increase active, healthy living and participation in physical activity for individuals of all ages and abilities.

Funding up to $15,000 is available to support active healthy living infrastructure, including the development or upgrade of trails, outdoor recreation spaces, and infrastructure, and active street initiatives. Eligible projects include upgrades, expansion and development of walking, hiking, cycling, cross country ski and shared use trails; development or enhancement of outdoor recreation spaces and infrastructure targeted at individuals of all ages and abilities, including outdoor rinks; and to support the development or expansion of active street projects.

The Active NL Fund application process is now open and the deadline to apply is March 14, 2022. The application form, as well as guidelines and eligibility criteria, is available here.
