BRUSSELS—President Biden said the U.S. will respond if Russia uses chemical weapons in Ukraine, following a meeting with NATO leaders to address new measures to help Ukraine in the monthlong war.
“We would respond. We would respond if he uses it,” Mr. Biden said during a news conference when asked about a possible response if Russian President Vladimir Putin uses chemical weapons in Ukraine. He said the “nature of the response would depend on the nature of the use.”
