Through 11 matches of 2022 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, Canada sits atop the table with 25 points and also leads the octagonal in goals scored (19) and goals conceded (five). On Thursday, it will look to continue its dominance against Costa Rica, whom it beat 1-0 in the reverse fixture last November. However, Costa Rica has three wins and a draw from its last four World Cup 2022 qualifying matches and is in contention for fourth in the table. You can stream all the action on Paramount+.

Kickoff is set for 10:05 p.m. ET and the match will be played at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San Jose. Caesars Sportsbook lists Canada as the +145 favorite (risk $100 to win $145) in the latest Canada vs. Costa Rica odds, while Costa Rica is the +210 underdog. A draw is priced at +185, while the over-under for total goals scored is 1.5. Thursday’s match will be streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

Concacaf World Cup qualifying picks for Costa Rica vs. Canada

Before you tune in to Thursday’s World Cup qualifiers, you need to see the Concacaf World Cup qualifiers picks from soccer insider Martin Green. After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper and has covered the game worldwide. Since then, his European soccer picks have been spot-on. Green has generated over $37,000 for $100 bettors since the 2017-18 season, and he has his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

For Canada vs. Costa Rica, Green is betting Canada (draw no bet) for a -145 payout. Costa Rica has been playing better after winning just once in its first seven qualifying matches. It has three wins and a draw in its last four matches and has gotten back into the hunt for fourth place and an international qualifying spot, but there is still a clear gulf in attacking quality between the two sides.

Besiktas forward Cyle Larin has 12 goals in 13 games for Canada throughout the overall qualifying campaign, while Lille forward Jonathan David has added nine goals. Meanwhile, Costa Rica has scored a total of eight goals in 11 games during 2021-22 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying. Costa Rica (seven goals conceded) is capable of parking the bus, but won’t have the luxury as it chases points.

“(Costa Rica) lacks firepower and is overly reliant on the aging playmaker Bryan Ruiz, who can no longer conduct the orchestra for 90 minutes,” Green told SportsLine. “By contrast, Canada, has a young, hungry team full of budding stars, and it should have too much energy and pace for Costa Rica this week.”
