Christopher Michael Fostel, 47, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022, in Odessa, following a courageous battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Chris was born in Fort Worth to John and Cheryl Fostel May 28, 1974. Chris attended Decatur ISD from kindergarten to 12th grade and graduated from Decatur High School in 1992. He received his B.A. from The University of the South (Sewanee) in 1996, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Wesleyan Law School in 1999. He married Gabby Williams and became father to Eden and Wyatt on July 25, 2009. Over a 23-year career practicing Law, Chris worked in private practice, and in the Cook and Ector County District Attorney’s offices. Chris loved practicing law and collaborating with his co-workers over the years. He loved anything Texas and cherished his road trips with his family throughout the state. Chris enjoyed spending time in the cool mountain air of Ruidoso, N.M. and on Lake Bridgeport with his family and friends.
Chris is preceded in death by maternal and paternal grandparents; his uncles, Mike Fostel and Greg Peden; cousin, Paige Fostel; sister, Kate Fostel; and father, John Fostel.
He is survived by his wife, Gabby Fostel; children, Eden and Wyatt; mother, Cheryl Fostel; stepmother, Cathy Fostel; brother, Josh Fostel and wife, Katey, of Eula; stepbrother, Justin Cortez, of Bridgeport; and stepsister Meagan Hood and husband, A.J., of Decatur; nieces, Karli, Laney, Layla, Jordyn, Sabrina, Megan, Emma and Mattie.
