Bonham, Texas — Funeral services for Donald Lee “Don” Williams, 72, of Ector, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2021 at Boyd Baptist Church under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Allred and Rev. Rodney Stanford will officiate. Burial will follow in Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham, Texas. Don passed away Tuesday night, Dec. 21, 2021 at his residence.
Don was born May 12, 1949 in Sherman, Texas, the son of William Mack Williams and Jessie Lee Franklin Williams. He was a 1967 graduate of Whitewright High School and attended Grayson County College. He served on the Whitewright School Board. Don married Becky Eaves Watson on June 29, 1990. He was a member and song leader at Bethel Baptist Church in Whitewright for a number of years. He later became a member of Boyd Baptist Church in Bonham where he sang in the choir, was a part of the mens quartet and taught Sunday School. He loved to play his guitar and sing. Don was a rural mail carrier and enjoyed woodworking and puzzles. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Becky Eaves Watson Williams of Ector, TX; two sons, Brett Williams (Darla) of Whitewright and J. D. Williams (Cassie) of Bells, TX; two step daughters, Dee Dee Mills of Dodd City, TX and Donna Elston of Sherman, TX ; two brothers, Ted Williams (Debbie) of Luella, TX and John Williams (Brenda) of Whitewright, TX; one sister, Patsy McFatridge of Whitewright, TX; grandchildren, Seth, Hannah, Asher, Jase, MacKenzie, Marissa, Morgan, Theresa, Myranda, Amanda and Carrie; great grandchildren, Tate, Ty, Tynslie, Tuff, Wesley, and one on the way, Josey; a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Boyd Baptist Church or the Fannin County Family Crisis Center.
