McCONNELLSBURG — Seven Mount Union players had multi-hit games as the Trojans came out on top over McConnellsburg 17-8 in an Inter-County Conference softball game on Friday.
“The girls came out a little cold today (literally) one of the coldest games I’ve coached in a while. It took them a few innings to get things jiving,” Trojans coach Renae Suchan said. “Reagan was pitching OK but our defense was asleep. When I made the pitching change it was because Reagan had a late slide into third the previous inning and her ankle was bothering her a little so I brought in Abbey and moved Reagan to third. Things settled down and our offense came to life.”
Sophie Smith, Patyn Crisswell, Chelsea Williams, Reagan Yocum, Abbey Brodbeck, Minerva Sheeder and Gracey Cramer all had at least two hits in the game.
Mount Union will play host to Moshannon Valley on Tuesday.
