Despite the persistent chip and supply shortages that make it nearly hard to buy graphics cards, next-generation consoles, and other gadgets, Nvidia is moving forward with a Titan-class edition of the GeForce RTX 3090 — dubbed the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti.
This next flagship GPU, unveiled at CES 2022, will outperform the already powerful RTX 3090 in power and performance.
Unfortunately, Nvidia didn’t divulge much about the new graphics card, but what we did learn has us intrigued even if the forthcoming GPU will be tough to obtain. Everything revealed about the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is shown below.
Price and Release Date for the Nvidia Geforce Rtx 3090 Ti
We still don’t know how much the RTX 3090 Ti will cost when released. It’s safe to assume, though, that it won’t be cheap. The MSRP of the RTX 3090 is $1,499. As a result, the RTX 3090 Ti is unlikely to cost less than $2,000.
Given the shortage issues afflicting the GPU business, Nvidia may charge much more. In a nutshell, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is a premium card with premium pricing. ACCORDING TO NVIDIA, the RTX 3090 Ti will not be available until later this year.
According to the business, more information will be released at the end of the month. We may, however, speculate on a possible publication date. Nvidia has revealed that its new entry-level RTX 3050 graphics card will be available on January 27.
Furthermore, speculations say that the future Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs will be available in either Q3 or Q4 of 2022.
Given that, we should expect the RTX 3090 Ti to be released anytime between those two launches. The RTX 3090 Ti might be released in late spring or early summer of 2022.
Specs and Performance of the Nvidia Geforce Rtx 3090 Ti
Specs are scarce. However, Nvidia did provide some tasty data. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is an 8nm-processed GA102 GPU. It will contain 40 Share teraflops, 78 Ray Tracing teraflops, 320 Tensor teraflops, and 24GB of 21Gbps GDDR6X memory.
Its base and boost frequencies are 1560MHz and 1860MHz, respectively. The RTX 3090 Ti, according to rumors, will have a TDP of up to 450W, which is 100W higher than the RTX 3090.
Unfortunately, we don’t have test data to evaluate how the GPU performs in everyday usage and gaming. Still, based on those specifications, the 3090 Ti should experience a 10% performance gain over the RTX 3090.
The RTX 3090 was 10% faster than the RTX 3080 on its own. Though the RTX 3090 Ti was intended primarily for gaming, it will undoubtedly have the capability required for audio editing and video rendering.
In addition, the RTX 3090 Ti should be able to handle 4K resolution and high frame rates with ease. In terms of performance, this GPU will be the “monster” that Nvidia promises it is.
A picture of the RTX 3090 Ti was leaked online by Videocardz before Nvidia’s CES presentation. This picture was confirmed when it emerged during Nvidia’s Special Address at CES 2022.
The Founders Edition model follows the same strategy as the rest of the 30-series GPUs. However, third-party sellers will undoubtedly release their variants with colorful looks and various cooling systems.
The RTX 3090 Ti Will Be 10% Quicker Than the RTX 3090
The RTX 3090 Ti will have base and boost clock rates of 1560MHz/1860MHz. Compared to the RTX 3090’s base and boost clocks and the predicted 100W increase in power demand, this should result in a 10% gain.
However, how much each game receives will vary, and it is unknown what the performance difference will be when ray-tracing is enabled.
Nvidia Geforce RTX 3090 Ti: Outlook
Because of the ongoing global epidemic, graphics cards have become a core topic within the PC gaming community. Under normal conditions, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti announcement would be the reason for joy.
Even the little details indicate a significant upgrade over the RTX 3080. However, given how many people are still unable to obtain Nvidia’s current RTX 30 series cards crop, it’s sensible to temper the RTX 3090 Ti expectations. And it doesn’t even consider how pricey this GPU will be.
We expect more information on the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti in the coming weeks.
Larger Memory Modules Are Predicted in the Rtx 3090 Ti
Another significant scheduled improvement, according to WCCFTech, is the usage of 2GB GDDR6X memory modules.
Because the present RTX 3090 only has 1GB memory modules, this adjustment implies that the RTX 3090 Ti might deliver the same amount of memory while operating at somewhat lower temperatures (because there are fewer memory modules to cool).
Because of the increased efficiency, Nvidia will be able to squeeze more performance out of the RTX 3090 Ti, but there is a potential catch. According to current speculations, the RTX 3090 Ti will have a power draw of 450 watts, which is 100 watts higher than the RTX 3090.
However, consumers need not be concerned about the increased power consumption. With the RTX 3090 already costing thousands of dollars, any prospective purchaser for the RTX 3090 Ti would easily pay the expense of its beefier power requirements.
