We have a tie game
CJ Stroud hits Marvin Harrison for their third touchdown connection of the day and it’s a 38-38 game. Another beautiful throw by Stroud, who is up to 475 yards and 5 touchdowns. Ohio State burns its second timeout
The good news for Ohio State is that it’s already in Utah territory because Jaxon Smith-Njigba is awesome and cannot be covered by either man or god. The bad news for Ohio State is that some pre-snap confusion forces the Buckeyes to burn their second timeout of the half. You never see things like that come back to haunt teams in close games!

Buckeyes get another stop
Ronnie Hickman makes a nice tackle on Utah TE Brant Kuithe to stop the Utes on fourth down. It’s a turnover on downs and Ohoi State gets the ball at the OSU 29, trailing by a touchdown, early in the fourth quarter.

Ohio State settles for three
Noah Ruggles drills a 31-yard field goal after the Buckeyes fail to find the end zone. It’s an 11-play, 76-yard drive to return it to a one score game. Both defenses have struggled mightily today, but they’ve also tightened up in the red zone.

That feels significant
Utah puts together another long drive, but for the first time tonight, it settles for a field goal. Both Tommy Eichenberg and Kourt Williams come through with a couple of big tackles to stonewall the Utes, and hold them to three. It’s now 38-28 Utah with 7:10 left in the third quarter.
