I’ve never seen so many young men of grit and determination than that of the 2021 Fighting Irish. It has been my pleasure to watch this season unfold and watch these talented and dedicated young people fight for their school and community. My congratulations to all who have been involved in Ursuline football. This was a season very well done!

Why does the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library house four copies of the divisive, racist, American-hating 1619 Project, the basis for CRT? Why spew nonsense of white supremacy and black oppression? Library leaders would say they don’t ban books. Then give a counter voice by adding four copies of 1776 Project that teaches love for our country and each other. Are they unaware of nationwide parental revolts concerning this hateful garbage?

A writer said Trumbull GOP had to “retaliate” with a “Let’s Go, Brandon” sign because the Democratic Party put up a billboard that actually informed voters that, with no help from Republicans, we benefited from the American Rescue Plan (you know, that check you cashed?), access to vaccines and reopening of schools with funds for safety. Dems voted to help all Americans. GOP obstructed. The billboard reflected factual vote outcome. The Trumbull GOP response? (Expletive) Biden.

The U.S. Constitution was intended to be a living document that we the people can amend as needed. It was not perfect in 1789. It is not perfect today. Arguing “if it’s not in the original Constitution then it’s unconstitutional” is lame and falls short when denying women’s rights for safe, legal, early-term abortions, just as it falls short in denying rights to refuse vaccination mandates.

Carbon dioxide, emitted in large quantities with long-lasting influence, is the primary greenhouse gas. Most CO2 emissions come from burning fossil fuels. For 300 years, atmospheric CO2 concentrations have risen by 46 percent and now are a concentration last experienced 3 million years ago. It can stay in the atmosphere thousands of years. CO2 emissions released today will continue to influence climate for a long time. Consensus aside, science shows climate change is manmade.

A Dec. 4 Sound off from Cortland thanked Joe Biden for “bringing our troops home.” That is insanity! Yes, he brought them home, but he left other Americans there, along with all the military animals, Afghans who helped us and billions of dollars worth of military equipment. It was a good thought, but it had a fatalistic and misguided result. Just another inept move by an inept president.

Our president is releasing 50 million barrels of reserve oil to reduce gasoline prices. We use 20 million barrels per day in this country, so I would say we’ll get a 10-cent break on gas for three days. Then, we can call OPEC and get it replaced for three times what we paid. Joe Biden is off his rocker with repeated stupid things he does to our country. You Democrats voted for him.

This past year has been a disaster under the Biden administration. He and his people in the shadows (who really call the shots) have taken this country in a deliberate direction that’s not in our best financial, safety and moral interest. Hard-working, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens are an afterthought, while criminals and illegal immigrants are the victims. Where’s the unity?
Vote Republican in the 2022 midterm elections to stop this calculated attack on constitutional rights.
