Although the New Orleans Pelicans were the underdogs at tipoff, they’ve since taken control of the game. It’s still tight after one quarter, with New Orleans leading 24-23 over the Utah Jazz. The Pelicans took a hit to their ego this past Saturday, so a victory here would be a pleasant pick-me-up.
New Orleans and Utah both experienced trouble in their last games, but one is bound to make up for it today. New Orleans will have to keep the pressure on with three quarters left to play.

The Utah Jazz have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the New Orleans Pelicans at 8 p.m. ET on Monday at Smoothie King Center. The Jazz are expected to win again but are hoping to meet expectations this time.
Utah came up short against the Golden State Warriors this past Saturday, falling 123-116. Center Rudy Gobert put forth a good effort for the losing side as he posted a double-double on 20 points and 19 boards.
Meanwhile, New Orleans was expected to have a tough go of it this past Saturday, and that’s exactly how things played out. 2022 “welcomed” them with a 136-113 beatdown courtesy of the Milwaukee Bucks. Shooting guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker just could not get things rolling his way, playing for 26 minutes with 4-for-16 shooting.
This next contest looks promising for Utah, who are favored by a full 10 points. Now might not be the best time to take Utah against the spread since they’ve let down bettors for the past two consecutive games.
